Who Sank the Boat? By Pamela Allen (Experiment: Sink & Float)

The purpose of this lesson is to make and test predictions about floating and sinking; to classify objects according to their buoyancy. In this activity students will be observing to determine whether various objects sink or float in water.The students understood how to make and test predictions about sinking and floating, they were aware and able to identify items that sink and float, and how to classify objects according to their floating characteristics. Students were very involved in the hands-on explorations. This is very important because provided them with opportunities to construct their own knowledge. They wanted to try their best in the experiment.
