This year the Theme for Lee County Reading Council Annual Conference was “Travel to the Stars-READ.” They offered four sessions of speakers throughout the day. The sessions included many local teachers and National presenters with a variety of subjects and areas of interest. The opening Keynote Session person was Jerry Pallotta, and the closing Keynote Session person was Dr. Evan Lefsky.
The conference had more than 30 exhibitors with their latest products, more than 25 speakers, and some of the authors signed their books.
This year the flight was navigated by:
Conference Chairs: Carol Brott and Jeanne Petronio
LCRC President: Shannon Barone
President Elect: Karen DiBella
Vice President: Anna Jones
Recording Secretary: Jewel Faerber
Corresponding Secretary: Donna Coleman
I had the pleasure of being one of the speakers at the conference. My topic was “101 Fun Ways to Introduce Children to Reading”. Participants were able to obtain 101 ideas to introduce children to reading and to implement them with their PK students by using hands-on activities. It was a great experience and a valuable opportunity to share ideas and information about reading for little children.
